ADHD
What is it
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning and development. Individuals with ADHD may struggle with maintaining focus, organizing tasks, and regulating their impulses, which can affect various areas of life, including academic performance, work, and personal relationships. Symptoms of ADHD can include difficulty sustaining attention, frequent distractibility, excessive fidgeting, and impulsive decision-making.

While occasional lapses in attention or bursts of hyperactivity are normal, persistent and severe symptoms of ADHD can be problematic. These difficulties can impair one's ability to complete tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain stable relationships. ADHD is often linked to other challenges, such as low self-esteem, anxiety, and academic or occupational underachievement. Additionally, unmanaged ADHD can contribute to increased stress and frustration for both individuals and those around them.
